Snoring

Filed under: Healthy Life — admin @ 3:51 am
Snoring represents the vibration of tissue, usually in the back of the throat, with the deep breathing characteristic of sleep. It is more common in men who are overweight or who lie on their backs or in other positions that allow the mouth to fall open when sleeping.

The man who snores may be unaware, though when snoring becomes loud enough to disturb the sleep of a partner, it typically disturbs the sleep of the snorer as well. Remedies for snoring include changing sleeping positions to minimize breathing through the mouth and evaluation from a sleep specialist if the snoring remains disturbing.

Excess body weight further pressures the throat structures. The throat may partially collapse or tissue may fall into positions that block the throat when a man is lying down and especially when lying on his back, restricting or even cutting off the flow of air through the throat.
